چکیده
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Incisional wounds were made on the backs of 6to 11-week-old epidermal-specific integrin knockout and wild type mice. A mechanical loading device was mounted, and the impact of several factors was analyzed, including: device type (distractor, stent), incision orientation (transverse, longitudinal) and suture material (nylon, stainless steel, adhesive skin glue). In the case of the distractor, the device was incrementally tightened for 10 days to maintain mechanical stress. Wound sites were harvested at intervals and analyzed via histology and immunohistochemistry.

Reconstruction of Buccal Mucosa, Upper and Lower Lip Defect Using Free Radial Forearm Flap with Palmaris Longus Tendon: A Case Presentation
Introduction: Advanced lip carcinomas can invade adjacent structures. Performing surgery for these cancers will lead to defects in this anatomically and functionally important area and will cause post-op difficulties such as drooling, speech alterations and aesthetic considerations, if not properly managed. Case Report: In this study, we will introduce a radial forearm free flap with palmari...
متن کاملNEW APPLICATION FOR THE BITEMPORAL (VISOR) FLAP IN RECONSTRUCTION OF ADVANCED LOWER LIP CARCINOMA
Background: Lip carcinoma is a common cancer with a good prognosis and when patients refer early in the course of disease the results of treatment are acceptable. Surgical procedures for reconstruction of lip defects are the use of remaining lip tissue, tissue from the opposite lip, adjacent cheek tissue, distant flaps and microvascular free flaps. The bitemporal (visor) flap is a regional...
متن کاملApplication of Kuhnt–Szymanowski Procedure to Lower Eyelid Margin Defect after Tumor Resection
BACKGROUND Lower eyelid reconstruction after tumor removal is always challenging, and full-thickness defects beyond half of the eyelid length require a flap from a part other than the remaining lower eyelid, such as the temporal area or the cheek. OBJECTIVE We aimed to report our experience of applying Smith-modified Kuhnt-Szymanowski, one of the most popular procedures for paralytic ectropio...
متن کاملEyelid Reconstruction Using Oral Mucosa and Ear Cartilage Strips as Sandwich Grafting
BACKGROUND The eyelid structure can be divided into an inner layer and an outer layer. Reconstruction of a full-thickness eyelid defect is accomplished by full-thickness composite tissue transfer or combined layered reconstruction. We present a new technique for inner layer reconstruction using ear cartilage and oral mucosa. METHODS The oral mucosa graft is harvested from the inner side of th...

Introduction: Medial canthus area, as one of most common sites of facial skin cancers, is notified for reconstruction. There are numerous reconstructive options to cover resulted skin defects, which have their own advantages and disadvantages. Here, we decided to present our experience in medial canthal area with amazing result. Case Report: A 47-year-old man with basal cell carcinoma (BCC) ...
